Internet Mogul Naveen Jain Profile and Contribution

Filed under: Business — admin @ 10:05 am

Naveen Jain is an Indian entrepreneur and founder of Internet pioneer InfoSpace and public records business Intelius. In 1979, he graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology. Naveen Jain then finished his postgraduate degree at the Xavier Labour Relations Institute in Jamshedpur, an industrial city in Jharkhand, India.

When he was only 20, he left New Delhi and joined a business-exchange program in the United States. Naveen Jain first found work in the Burroughs Corporation — which is now known as Unisys — in New Jersey. However, he could not acclimatize to the climate of New Jersey, so he moved to Washington to work for the Microsoft Corporation as a Senior Executive.

In 1996, Naveen Jain founded InfoSpace Corp., an Internet service provider based in Bellevue, Washington. He then left the company and founded Intelius, a company that specializes in public records that offer identity theft protection and background checks. The company gives power to its businesses by selling background reports online.

On October 30, 2006, Intellius Inc. contributed to the Boys & Girls Club of Bellevue, a Washington-based foundation that focuses on providing outreach programs and clubs that cater to the needs of young boys and girls. The foundation makes it possible for all young people, particularly those who are in utmost need, to reach their full potential as responsible and prolific young citizens by providing the highest quality programming for both boys and girls.

Then CEO Naveen Jain agreed to offer the foundation with free background checks of its volunteer applicants so as to maintain the safeness of the children’s workplace and learning facility. The Boys & Girls Club used Intelius’ Instant Nationwide Check to distinguish and verify individuals volunteering as mentors, scorekeepers, general instructors, referees and leaders.

The use of this Intelius service is to keep track of people who apply, and prevent those who are not fit to become applicants of the program. The result would be parents having confidence in the foundation’s credibility in providing for their children. The Nationwide Employment Check includes a considerable nationwide criminal check, an identity verification check, address history, a sex offender registry check and more.
