My wireless setup is not running correctly, it is having some monumental issues. As soon as, I get linked to other networks apart from my home network it gets disconnected in about 5 minutes. Probably if I was not able to connect with the web at all then I would blame it on my own incompetence as I am not a computer freak, however I do get by without too many problems.I exhausted all my technical abilities but could not resolve the problem, so I had to call the hardware supportline of my web service provider. I knew that it’s not going to be a pleasant experience, earlier also I had trouble with them when I had a problem. I do know why so many British call centres are outsourced to India, and please don’t assume I’m a racist saying this. Although the Indian representatives are usually very well mannered, they do tend to sound like robots repeating the similar thing over and over again and not tending to actually reply your question with an easy and straight forward yes or no. After waiting for about twenty minutes on a national price number, I got through a representative, regardless that I paid a premium for quick and easy pc support. Only to locate I had pressed the incorrect button on the long list of choices at the beginning of the call. The operator then put me through to the correct department after an added ten minute wait in an added line. The representative diagnosed my internet line and told me there’s a small problem in it. He also told me that I would have to pay and call for an engineer to get the issue solved. On asking the consultant about the associated fee for the same, I got a really vague response saying that it depends whether there is an engineer in your region. I said that what’s the point of spending cash every month for the computer support when I’ve to pay the engineer. It was lets face it a problem with the phone line and not with my laptop or computer settings. I was getting the same response repeatedly, it was like talking to a wall, so I declined the engineer visit and began looking for other alternatives.I called my buddy Bruce who was a little bit of a techy to see if he could help. He came and solved the problem in just 2 minutes, he told me there was only a setting problem in my pc, so I simply wish to know that why did the call centre consultant say that there was an issue with my telephone line? Is it to get extra money out of me!
